View Full Version : Strange headlight problem

So i hit a large pothole coming home from work a few days ago and my right low beam goes out. I figured the hit had just broken the filament in the bulb(it's happened before), but the filament was intact and to test the bulb i put it in my left low beam and it worked fine. Next i went to the fuse box under the hood and while the fuse was fine it was not getting any incoming current. So i have traced the problem as far back as the headlight control module on the fuse panel on the drivers side under the hood. I couldnt figure out how to remove the headlight control module and was afraid of breaking it trying to get it out. Both highbeams, foglights and the left lowbeam work fine, and somehow the car is still able to recognize when there is not a bulb in the socket(it gives me the "Low Beam" warning on the display).

Any ideas where to go from here would be greatly appreciated.

It did turn out to be a broken solder on the LKM. I opened it up and one solder looked a little pitted, didnt really look too bad but i thought i would resolder it anyway and that was it.

Thanks for the help.
