I hope you're just experimenting with an extra pair or something.. No offense but that's pretty horrible.. And also, what about safety? I, for one, want my brake lights to be seen. :(

the brake lights and turn signal are very visible when activated, even in daytime... i don't think it looks horrible at all.

i don't think its horrible, i've been looking for a smoked set of tail lights and headlights i think.. maybe.. i've never seen them on a white e34. thats a little too dark for me though, i like the whole tail light smoked

Mmmmmm, smoked tail... :p
Smoke the others, but leave the reverse lights alone, it's hard enough to see when you're backing up! If you don't like it, smoke them too!!! Post some pics tomorrow when you're done. What type of implications do you expect from the local "finest"?...

Thanks for compliments JR! I'm thinking of smoking the entire inner tail lights. The reverse lights do $hit anyway. I will definitely post pictures. I don't think any "localers" are going to give a hoot, as the signals and lights are plainly visible when applied. Plus, in PA its legal to have them smoked.

I dunno about the procedure on Bruno's site, didn't look at it. I just used common sense and sprayed i think 4 coats of tint and 2 coats of clear.

I like it, but didn't know you could get them that dark. I've seen the Hella kit and didn't think it was that dark. Are you doing this yourself, and if so, do you have a write up on how it's done?

I think they'll look good once they're finished. does anyone know where you can get the tinted headlights? i've seen them on cars but never for sale anywhere.

I will perhaps do a little write up. it's not hard.
Bekkers has the hella smoked tails but they are like $500+. They are also no where near as dark as this. they can be had at www.bekkers.com
look for an update tomorrow evening when i have the whole trunk done.
