Anti-Theft code issue

This is my first post, but have been lurking in the background for about 6 months now. I own a 91 525i and accidentally set the anti-theft code.(didn't know it had one) I've had to disconnect the battery, but need to get it to the shop to replace the alternator. Any ideas how to reset or bypass this code? I've had the battery disconnected over the weekend and it still bleeps when I connect the terminals. I understand that this is a sensative topic...

Any help would be appreciated!

Sit with the key in ignition position 'on' & wait. The obc will start a 15 minute countdown & then resets, allowing you to start the car.

Thanks Martin! I will check it out this evening when I get back home. I saw the OBC counting down, but didn't know what it was doing.
