LKM removal question

My son's '90 525 has the low beams cutting out. I did a search and it sounds like the LKM has some bad solder connections. I tried to pull it out of the car, but she no budge.

Before I break something, I thought I'd check first here to see if there's a trick to it. Also, reading Bruno's "How to" he says the LKM is "static sensitive" and requires careful handling. What does that mean?

Just yank it out... always kinda hard... I yank one side up and then follow the other side.

If you have no experience with electronic parts, better ask a friend or a radio/TV shop to do the soldering. Otherwise you can fry something to no repair state,

I'm inexperienced with a slodering iron. What does it mean to "ground yourself"?

Ground Yourself
If you are working with integrated circuits (ICs), you also need to ground yourself. Integrated circuits have tiny conduction paths that can be damaged by static electricity that builds up on your body. You can ruin an expensive IC simply by walking across a carpet or taking off a sweater and then touching the leads of the IC. To solve this problem, wear a grounding strap (see Figure 1). This strap safely sends static charges on your body to earth ground.

I think the above is a bit too much, but you will understand now the reason behind 'ground yourself'.
