And another job done with my friend Mike (he is actually from Australia and also lives in Japan) on headlight cleaning, corrosion treatment at the lower edges of the doors with rust converter, and some other make up things.
On some pics you can see on one side the cleaned headlights and on the other side not yet, just to compare. Installed are H1 55 W with 4.500K I bought from KOITO. Still have to install the ones I bought from the U.K. with 6.500K but also 55W. The first pic on the left on top show the wire melted after using H1 100W rally Bulbs.

on the E32 and other cars. Still very popular here, because of the small parking lots and narrow streets.
It is not the 'flag holder' which is in the online ETK.
Nowadays a collectors item and I was asked already be several people overseas to buy it, as only available in Japan. But the price of a new one is more than 100 $.

For it's age it is in excellent condition and I try to keep it all original, including the Sony audio, the original wheels, tool box complete even with the old blue small towel with the BMW logo inside ;)

Have several colours front lights here. Grey, white, clear and the yellow ones too.
Same with the tail lights. Got the from McQueen in Germany. Still I like the original best.
Also have most of the modules like LKM-L, CCM, GM, RM, IHKA sword and control panel, MOTRONIC's, EML, dashboard, DK's , headlights from Hella, spare wheels, switches, relays , power steering pump, MAF's, and you name it on stock for survival in expensive Japan. Usually sent by friends from Germany. Do not have much space in crowded Tokyo, that is the problem.
My only other problem is to 'hide' the parts from my wife ;)
She thinks I am E32 crazy :(
I guess she is right ....
But with these parts it is easy to check and swop for checking parts instead of buying new ones. I would recommend to all of you to get a basic stock of used parts for day X, when you need it and you do not have it (used) it costs a hell of money. I always buy when I find something in good quality and reasonable price.
As an example: bought a GM in the U.K. for $ 10,-
A new one would have cost me much more from the dealer.
That is why shogun continues to collect parts. :D

Looks good Erich! Nice that you are contributing so richly to this great forum. I have never seen another car with those markers and as Winfred said, those markers would have a street life of about 5 minutes in the states in any mall parking lot. If you don't buy that Highliner, find a hot girl at the dealership to distract the salesman so you can snap off its marker and mail it to me. I will mount it in my garage as a keep sake....lol.

I am presently chasing one 750iL Highline here at a dealer in Japan which only has 11K on the clock. But he still wants a lot of $$, Very rare. George Mann says I should buy it. Is there already one year and slowly they go down with the price.

Highline basically means: L-version = longer. 2 separate aircons for front and rear, 2 alternators to bring all the power, 2 batteries, 2 single electric rear seats, the picnic tables, foot rests, reading lights, readio control in the armrest in the rear, under that a smalll fridge. 2 special fitting glasses to drink the champagne (very rare now to get and very mucho $$), electric rear shade, rear window shades and some other extras.

Hi Patrick,
my 750 was built in 11/88 and at that time apparently the Japan spec. 750 was only available as LHD in a RHD country. Some examples for the Japan specification: engine oil is abt 1 Liter more than the standard 750 version (probably to cope with the high temperatures here in summer), differential is not same ratio like in Europe but like US and Australia version, and many other small things.
And even the 3 and 5 series at that time was available here as RHD and LHD optionally. Many customers opted for the LHD, just to show they drive a special/foreign car and they are different from the masses etc.
Among the young generation at that time it was even sometimes said, 'this guy has suntan on his left arm' = meaning he drives a foreign car, whow.
The road facilities are quite suitable here for driving LHD. For example the ticket machines on parking lots or for Highway toll are usually on both sides of the street.
The cashier guy at the toll booth has a long 'board' to receive the ticket and give you the change from his box thru the right window and reaches you on the left side.
Looks funny, but it works.
Of course we have now the electronic toll collection system, but still most of the people pay in cash, by credit card, or by prepaid cards.

It might be that these cars were never officially released for sales in USA but are grey imports or parallel imports as they are sometimes called.
I guess the Skyline GTR34 is one of them.

For example I own a Citroen Charleston 2CV (the one with the red/black painting) out of the last production year and it has only abt. 650 miles on the clock as I keep it stored. This was also a grey import to Japan.

wow! you have a 2cv charleston? those things are funky little cars...it must be incredibly funky with that paint scheme -- doesn't it have a canvas top as well? 650 miles...must be one of a few in the world with so little milage. I'm always reminded of a charlie brown movie we watched when we were kids where they all go to France as exchange students and snoopy drives a 2cv around. They even got the 2 cyl sound down in the movie. hehe. That's a TOUGH little car though, from what I know.

One of my long term project ideas is to pick up a DS-21 and renovate/update it. There's something incredibly sexy about the front end of that car, esp with the way the suspension lowers when you shut off the car. Kinda like a proto saab 900s in terms of aesthetics, but something has to be done about the rear. Then there's that "70's-tastic" coupe that you can occasionally find in the US...think it had a maserati v6? Those things are crazy. All in all, citroen is a whack company, but I'm not phased.

it looks like this. Bought it new with 0 km, and it is in a shack on the country side at my father's in law place, the car is so rare here that everybody looks at it, especially with the funny roof, the windows, the gear lever etc.

DS21 renovation is a good project. Lovely cars. I know a shop here in Tokyo which is specialized on that model repairs.

I've always had a thing for 2cv's since my days in Spain but never owned one. I had a chance to buy a rare aluminum bodied DS21 convertible for $6k, but couldn't scrape the money together at the time. Stupid-stupid-stupid. Why didn't I just do a cash-advance on a credit card?

Huhh, you lost a lot of money, that car is much more worth now.
But I would never sell it.
That was really advanced design for it's time.
We have here a repair shop in Tokyo which is specialized on DS 21. I sometiimes visit that shop just to see these cars. Here one of the many homepages for that car.
