5pm on the way home from work...beautiful 74 degrees F. Sunroof open, windows down, Springsteen blairing...
pay the toll to cross San Francisco Bay, shift to 2nd, phone rings...
Shift to 3rd, answer phone. finally get sunroof and windows closed and radio off so I can hear the conversation. Cruising along, I notice the tach at around 5 grand!!! Ahhhh...I never shifted out of 3rd and I'm going about 60! Stupid Me.
Point of the story is
This car/engine is SO smooth.
Never feel a vibration from engine or running gear.
With all the other stick-shifts I've had (fiat, mustang 5.0, "3-on-the-trees", hondas and yes, a vega) I knew to shift by engine noise/vibration.
Can't do it with the 5. I've had it for 2 months now and still can't feel the engine.
