Why don't they learn from Ford? Or will it take them 20 years to realize the same thing - that once your design peaks, just copy it and modernize it.

The headlights are more reminiscent to an Impala. Either way it sucks and I hope to the great car gods that this is a photoshop blend using X3 characteristics.

Bangles a guru - Current 7 series best looking Beemer - IMHO, prefer it to the new 5, 6, m3 etc.
Although, this could be a bit of an evil eye for BMW Inc. Most of my favourite designs were followed by co collapse/massive change in design philosophy:
-Merc S-class (92-95 - "swine class")
-Citroen XM
-Alfa Romeos/Lancia's from the mid 80s
-Jaguar XJ40
