e34 clutch-feel question

I recently picked up a 1990 535 5-sp. This is the first e34 I have driven with a clutch so here is the question for you 5-speeders. When I let out the clutch slowly at low RPM there is a slight shudder. If I give it more RPM no problem. But if I start to engage the clutch at low RPM (not low enough to stall the engine) I get a slight shudder that is coming from the clutch (not the engine bucking or stalling).

This feels different than either of my e28 clutches, which never shuddered at any RPM, even right up to the point they were worn out.

Does this situation sound like something you have experienced with an e34 or something specific with my clutch?
