Can I get a flip (switchblade) key for my '91 535i?

In the pic you can see the switchblade remote in the upper right and the laser cut key stub & screw in the lower left. The thing in the lower right is a spare cover turned over so you can see how the key stub is attached and the coil that "springs" it open...and the key in the upper left is to give perspective of the remotes size:

Yeah, that was what i wanted to purchase. Mine is all worn out already so i wanted a new one with battery and cut key included. I guess i will have to settle for #15.

The keys for the V8 have the upgraded anti-theft system that is like in the e39 and e38...and these keys are not compatible with the 6 cylinder e34's RF anti theft/keyless entry system. The big black fat-head keys with the integrated keyless entry buttons have a chip embedded in the center that communicates with the ignition...if the chip isn't present...the car will not start.

The way I see it...women do it all the time! :D I don't know if you're married and a DAD...but if you are...take advantage of it. June will be here before you know it (Father's Day) and if you can precisely time it...you can drop those hints about how great a gift it would be to have a new key for the 540...but gee...it cost soooo much! :D

If you're not a Dad (w/kids that have jobs) or a "good" husband...there's always your birthday! Come on dude....work it..what do you think family is for (don't forget the friends, too)!!! :D

well here is my situation, im 17 (no kids, lol). My birthday was 3 weeks ago, guess what i got as a gift.......



....my 540!!! I wont be getting gifts for a looooong time. Tis a sad day.
