I used to own an E34
my 94 540i(named norma jean) (rip) somebody robbed it from me.
i stayed with the roundel im now driving a 01 330i e46(named Maddona).
but i could never let go of my e34 it was the best car i ever owned.
i spotted a 1990 535 w/ 100k off someone i know (not too well but enough)
for 5,500.. is that too much? what does it go for? :)

.....usually the manual tranny models are more,naturally dependant on the condition of the vehicle and whether or not it's been properly maintained.
Really like the 330's but love my 535.

Without looking it up at Edmunds.com, or kbb.com (which I would recommend you do), I'd say that was a great deal. I just bought a slightly beat up 1992 with 200K miles on it for $4900. When I say slightly beat up, I mean it needed some mechanical work done on it. Fuel pump, thrust arm. And it was driven in salt, so the beginnings of rust are on it.
