i need a picture of the steering gear box................

it is hard to see where the adjustment is to tighten the box.
does anyone have a picture of one showing where the adjustment screw is so i know where to look?
i think there is a heat shield on mine???
i have a 1995 540i/a (5/94) with servotronic.

haha.... if you pull the engine up youll see it. try tightening the collar nut under the dash first.

I believe the 540 has an entirely different box than the others. See the link here from Bruno's (http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/maintenance/steering/steering_box.htm) web site. It can be reached from the top of the car. Plan on a skin graft to your arm after completing the procedure. Type in Steering Box in the search box and you will get several pages of info....did mine today.....

my telescoping no longer works. i did remove a good bit of play in the steering, but the car is not easy to keep centered on the road.
i have been searching for a pic, but have not found one.
