After search this forum there seems to be conflicting info on whether or not chrome tips ordered from BMW will fit without welding, using a rubber mallet, or if the tips have to be cut and welded.
Also, there are about 3 different part numbers that come up.
Does anyone know that part number would be right for the VANOS M50 ('93 525i) and if it can fit without welding?
The bmwe34.net site mentions part #82119401504, but not the car/engine.

They will fit. You just tap them over your existing pipes. I ordered mine from bavauto.com for $20 a piece. It looks great.

So all tips are the same diameter whether you have a 540i or 525i?

Yeah i think they are. You have to input your car model before you can buy anything from Bavauto anyways, so you will get a perfect fitment.

if you have a factory or eberspracher replacement muffler - the tips are stainless. You can wetsand and polish them up.
All the e34 tips are the same. The e32 uses bigger exhaust tips.

available in chrome or black, then there are different sizes for various e34s. I ordered a black set from BMA as my exhaust arrived with a small ding in one of the tips.

Not all tips, I know for a fact that stock M20 525i tips are smaller than M50 525i. I think 540 tips might be larger too?
Or you could get big-ass RD exhaust like mine and cut your valence:

With a little bit of care to mount, I got rolled tips at Canadian Tire for $9.95 (CDN) a piece, and they look great. They're "Tuned Performance Exhaust" brand. Not bad looking. So... why go with these ones, out of curiosity?
Alan_525i, where did you get your spoiler, and how much? ;)

I didn't get just tips, its a cat-back exhaust.
The spoiler is a BMW part. I have the part number around somewhere. You can get it from the dealer, they need to look under spoilers for E34 on the euro parts list. Its probably going to run you around 200.
