I'm trying to determine where in the instrument cluster the check lamp location should be. Pics would be helpful. Bentley manual...???, owners manual...??? - TIA

Thanks Shogun. I found the first link just before I saw your post. I have now fitted an engine check lamp and the stomp test works! :)
For those who don't have a functioning engine check lamp and are wondering where it is located it is on the bottom of the cluster 2nd socket from the left after the seat belt warning lamp.

If I remember correctly, didn't you buy a PEAKE tester?
What is your opinion about that after you tried it?
