Seat adjustment

The reclining mechanism on my front seats is ****ed. When I pull the lever the seatback falls the whole way down and won't come back up on it's own, I have to pull it back up myself. The seats have no electrics apart from the lumbar support. Can anyone point me in the direction of a repair guide or tell me what I need to do to fix it. Thanks.
