Tire reco for 1995 525it

I just picked up some sweet 17x8.5 Schnitzer wheels on Ebay. I'm all set on the tire sizes (front: 235/45, rear: 255/40). But even on Tire Rack it is difficult to figure what brand of Ultra Performance All Weather Tire to pick.

Any recos?

I've dunlop sp sport 9000's and they're great in the wet and also have loads of grip in the dry. they've a nice v style tread pattern too.

Personally I would pick Michelins, but they are way too expensive. I'm thinking about buying some rondells next week or so. Had anyone tried NITTO NT555, other brands I can pick are SUMITOMO HTZR2, and CONTINENTAL EXTREME CONTACT. I think one of the members of this forum has them on. 17x8.5" tiers235-45-17

my last ones were michelin pilot sports. great tire but yeah they're expensive and i'm not too keen on the tread pattern.

I have Nitto NT555... Hate em. They are really rough riding tire... very stiff sidewall. Treadwear is excellent though... Tire noise is terrible in low speed... high speed noise is low. I wouldn't buy it... it came with my car.

.......first the term "Ultra Performance All Weather Tire" is an oxymoron. Next, I am sure you mean AC Schnitzer replicas. Which I like myself, but I'm not crazy about the unknown origin of manufacture. Anyways, to answer your question. The Falken ZE-512 is currently rated #1 by consumer's guide, it is an all season, and you should probably run a 245/45-17 if you can test fit it to be assured it won't rub. Personally, I think the 235-255 combo is not the greatest on 8.5" wheels. A 245/45 is perfect. I know the Falken ZE-512 tire is slightly undersized for it's given specs, and it's designed with a rounded shoulder, so I would feel comfortable trying them. The Sumitomo HTR+ is huge for it's given size, so I would only suggest a 235/45 tire if you want this all-weather tire. If you want an all out "Ultra Performance" tire, try the Avon Tech M500, Yokohama AVS ES100, Sumitomo HTR Z II (a Dunlop Sport 9000 in disguise, aka much less expensive), or the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 in sizes 235/45-17 front, and 265/40-17 rear. That should give ya a bit of understeer........lol

I was gonna use a set for winter in size 205/65-15 as I found them quiet, comfy, and pretty decent in the foul stuff. I instead decided to get a set of SNOWS exclusively for winter. Either Hankook's Icebar W300 or Dunlop's Graspic DS-2

SUMITOMO HTZR2After trying some ES100s (awful) and BFG G-Force T/A KDWs (excellent, but very expensive), I'm going back to a set of Sumitomo HTR-ZIIs. They're fantastic tires, expecially given the price.
