If anyone remembers any of my old posts. I had bought a set of rims about two months ago from e-bay, they were for a 3-series even though advertised for a 5 series. Sold those awhile back....bid on another set which when I received them, they turned out again to be for a 3 series as the company sent me the wrong set...well a month later, mine finally arrived after finding out where they went....got tires mounted yesterday and today we have a winter storm warning up here with lots of rain/wet snow...lol...
Oh well, will have to take pics of them on the car next week....
I know they are not deep dish, but I hope they will look good on the car...I have learnt that TSW disc. these about 7 years ago, they are new but were sitting in some warehouse in Newfoundland..I won the auction for $200 for the set..lol :p
5X120 Et15...whoo hooo

The only thing that sucks is if you damage one of them its going to be tough to find a replacement.

I think they will look good! Do you need to run a spacer with these wheels?
Guelphguy

No spacer...exact fit, made for a 90's 5 series.....

Ok, told the wife to pack up the kids and go to the mall cause I am puttn' ma rims on! lol,
1ST question there is 1/2 inch of wheel bolt thread that comes out from the factory basket weave, on the new rims I have only 5/8th of an inch of thread that comes out from the rim...is that enough? Should I be using a torque wrench?

TSW wheels tough to get? They are all over the place.......lol. I will admit having purchased such an old design, he may have a problem down-the-road. Personally, I like the split spoke style, but it's gotta have a lip. That front wheel drive look is not for me......come to think of it, that may be one of the reasons why I drive a 5 series bimmer

my studs are a bit short also, mine only thread in about 5 threads, should be good enough for a while. Im going to eventually figure out if im gonna get chrome or black ones and get the longer ones.

I like the basket weaves better...maybe its the lack of deepdish or something. Maybe the blue centercaps? Idonno

It must be the blue center caps, but except for that they look sharp. For that price I'm sure Gulephguy is still smiling without deepdish.

Guelphguy, they look nice but I'll have to back up some of the guys here...I find the anodized blue centre-cap a bit distracting.
You also need to drop the beast's front end...it looks like you'll get a nose bleed being that high up! ;)
Cheers,

You know it is funny you mention that, with the tire size of 235/45R17 it is exactly the same diameter as factory, yet I notice that as well, why does it appear that I suddenly have more "gap"......I already tought that I may find a way to strip the blue off those nuts...

GG, I'm not sure...that looks even higher than stock. Maybe a new set of front springs is in order... ;)

the front probably looks so high because hes on a slanted driveway and the back wheels are braked. you dont need to remove the anodizing, just spend some time and mask off the blue really well then a few layers of wheel paint, and youll be set. It'll look smokin once you do that and lower it! :D

to answer your question why the car looks lifted...........the stock 15" wheel is not as far "outboard" as the 17" TSW wheels, so the gap appears larger due to the tire and the fender arch being on the same plane, instead of the tire being an inch or so inboard. Basically it's an optical illusion......kinda like 2 parallel lines "appearing" to touch when they are drawn on paper in a 3D method to help provide a sense of depth.

Yeah, that makes sense PML, also my driveway is quite angled, next sunny day I am going to put it in the exact spot as it was parked in the "basketweave" photo, spin the blue nuts off and take another pic....Thanks for your work PML, I am only sorry I did not find you before going into this venture...or else I would have had similar rims but only deep dish....everyone should always contact PMLmotorsports when you are thinking of rims! good dude!
