At idle, I noticed a tick-tick-tick noise only when the ac is running. When the AC is off there is no noise. Just noticed it today! Cools fine. Belts and all pullies and tensioners fairly new. Did not see any wobbles on AC cluthc or tensioners. Cycles on/off fine. Any ideas? Archives were not conclusive.
I sure hope I am not developing a list of new problems.
TIA

Usually it is the belt.

At least I hope it is the belt. It is only about 15,000 miles old.
Usually it is the belt.

belt with a chunk missing or the tensioner shock for the ac belt

Shock bad or tensioner wheel bad usually sounds like rattle instead of ticks.

when you've seen as many of those things die as i have you get to see and hear some unusual stuff, this last saturday we had a 95 525im come in for a set of new headlights, and we just happened to notice the plastic roller was gone on the tension roller at the alternator, and the belt was running on the metal center bearing race, it had to of just happened because the belt wasn't totally eaten up yet, the mystery is that it was able to **** all of the moving parts off the roller without throwing the belt AND without alerting the normally perceptive driver (she usually catches things real soon) weird **** happens
Shock bad or tensioner wheel bad usually sounds like rattle instead of ticks.
