hello all.
just topped up my coolant tank, and noticed a cream coloured sludge on the underside of the filler cap. is this somthing i should be worried about? the head gasket went last august (and was fixed at great expence!) but i havnt noticed the sludge before....

just residual oil that was left in the coolant passages, clean it up periodicly and you should be good to go.

What do you mean? There shouldn't be any oil in the coolant.

from the old gasket and/or when the head was pulled oil can get into the water passages, dont take much more than a few drops.

It's hard to get all of the nastiness out, especially if it gets bad.

phew! thanks guys, dont mind telling you i was a little concerned about that, ive cleaned it all off and wil keep an eye on it anyway.
