Yes, BMW is getting "out of the lubricants business". They haven't sold Gummi Pflege for years (supposedly -- I don't know if that's true) and one stick will go a long way.

My front door seals are worked. How much will this stuff bring them back. If it can restore them, then I can go about repairing some of the punctures and tears. These seals are pretty expensive.

Gummipflege is still available at the dealer. But now in a spray can.

With a fair discount from the dealer (CCA or Mail order or whatever they want to call it) new seals are about $75 per door. I got a new driver door one. Have fun putting them in, its a PITA.

And yes, gummi pfledge works.

Additional info:
According to the ETK the rub on applicator is discontinued. The spray can is still available as part nr. 83.12.0.301.480.
I recently bought some silicone spray stuff made in Japan and tried that on my 750 Highline I bought recently, as recommended by a friend.
Applied it to all rubber parts, sealings, connection hoses between airfilter and throttling valves etc.
Surprisingly after about 1-2 days the old rubber which was stone hard, became soft again. Apparently that stuff goes into the rubber and rejuvenates it.
Works also on door seals, plastic parts etc.
And it looks much better. Here one sample, air filter housing, left side untreated, right side treated.

If they're squished or cracked, it won't do much, if anything. The stuff works well to maintain them, but it won't bring 'em back from the dead. What Jeff Bidoli did (and I considered doing before I found a set of used seals from Bret Luter in better condition than the originals) was to buy two new front ones from BMA, then use hacked up bits to fix the rears.

Erich -- can you post info on the spray you just picked up? I'm wondering what it is and if it's available in the US. Personally, I'm freaked about my dash: don't want it cracking any time soon, so anything I can do to preserve it would be awesome.

if anyone wants pieces of my old tan color interior sections to expand their old seals let me know. I was gonna ebay 2 feet for 10 bux...good deal compared to new and you cant see the patch if its under the foot panel.

do not have it here but at the place where I work on my Highline + disassemble the other 750, but that is 70 km away from here. All on the can is written in japanese and I doubt that that is available outside Japan. But for sure there is a similar product available.
As far as I remember it was silicone spray and maybe a kind of softener included.

I would use Vinylex for your dash. That seems to be a better choice than Gummiphledge which is really (I think) for soft rubber.

Hmmmm...thanks for the info, Erich. I'm going to hunt down some of that vinylex stuff that Alan mentioned. The guy has rear head rests, so he must know what he's talking about :D

Until then...it's time to start ordering some gummi pflege. I seriously thought this stuff was done forever. Glad to see they're still making it -- my seals need another treatment.
