about 1 out of 10 times i shutoff the car, when i start it backup the a/c button is off even though it was on when i stopped the car.
is this normal or is something failing?

I cant remember how mine acts....it might turn off the AC button... but it's a good idea to turn off all your AC or Heat controls about a few miles from a destination for system "care"

There's a service bulletin on this, No. 640495000 and some sort of a wiring fix. Apparently fan acts as generator as it coasts down causing loss of setting.

mine comes back on when I start it back up, I would rather it didnt for over nights when it is cooler in the mornings.

Just ran a little errand. I just won Stevie Nicks tickets from JACK FM 93.1 I checked mine and the a/c stays on.

Tim, I think you'll have to beg, borrow, buy or steal the TIS CD. They're cheap on Ebay. I haven't figured out how Bill R. pastes ETK/TIS excerpts into posts.

My '93 525 does this also on occasion also. From description of problem, it's probably more likely to happen if fan is on high speed when you shut off engine. You might check for this pattern.
