Okay guys. I have two choices.
Choice A) Staggered set of throwing stars that have just been polished and had the centers (star + cap) painted. Price~1200 no tires.
Choice B) A set of 5 style 5's. One rim has a small curb mark, others are perfect and round but have wheel weights on the outside, leaving blemishes. Price~1200 with some almost gone tires...And I have to pick them up or have my buddy buy them and ship them to me.

I have the 5's and they are a major pain to clean- you know that. In the future I may polish the lip and paint the center slightly darker, would be kinda old school classic.
I like the throwing stars because you can roll naked or with the cap, would look totally different. Staggered is good and bad no? looks cool, can't rotate f-b.
Are you going for classic or sporty? They both have a nice lip..
I think I would do the stars though

I picked up a set of these on Ebay .. 18" staggered and it cost 539.00 for 4 plus shipping.
I was originally looking for the throwing stars but decided to go with the M Parallel. Between your choices I would go with the throwing star.

OEM m-parallels would be choice #3...but those get snatched up so fast...and everybody has them now (not like the other two arn't common).

I am cheap so these are new replicants. I looked at all sorts of wheels to not get the m parallel so I would be unique. I was not even going to keep the car but now that I had the nikasil crap takin care of I am starting to enjoy working on it and the engine is like brand spankin new. I got tired of lookin and hit the buy button on Ebay. Then bought some black hella lights for the rear ... now I have to change out the front turn signal and the orange side lights and will someone please stop me. Next is going to be a tint.

Nope... no way to fit on E39... I think they are from E38 since it has smaller center hole size... No concentric spacer required.
Seems like this is too radical for you...
