I was roped into watching Jersey Girl this weekend and there are 2 reasons to watch it; 1) George Carlin and and a black on black E34. Many shots of it in the movie.

Nothing tops the E34 M5 chase in Ronin... which is a close to "Car Porn" for us E34 nuts...

I'm renting it as soon as I get home. I've never seen it.

Glad someone brought this up. I've heard talk about Ronin and had seen it a couple times prior to owning an e34. The M5 that is in the chase has a normal front bumper on it instead of the m-tech. Is this normal over there, had that one just been changed out, or did they use a 525 or 535 for the action scenes?

the car they did the chase in for acutally filming the sequences is not an m5. it is a RHD e34 that has a fake LHD steering wheel/gauge cluster/ display so that it would appear natasha mcellhone (however her name is spelled) is driving, when really it is a stunt driver in the passenger seat driving the the car with the RHD stuff....
still, they do a good job hiding the fact it isn't an m5, don't they?

I saw an interview with the director of Ronin where he was asked about the M5 in the movie. Apparently he is nuttier about e34 than we are. He thought abusing and using an m5 in the movie the way he did was sacrilige. He used a 520 instead and dubbed the engine noise in later. He could get 6 520 for the cost of abusing one m5. They were all dressed as m5. That explains the lack of mtech front bumper. - JT

Not an E34, but in the US remake of french film "TAXI", there's a lush, pimped-out 760iL!! It's red with chromes... then its blue. And a couple of nice E46 M3 cabrios too!!
The bad guys drive an E34 in a Chris Rock movie (where he is a twin who has to fill in for his dead brother in order to save the world...). But its only 5 sec of footage, and its no stunt driving!!
The hero in the Transporter fangs around in a lovely Black E38 (with revolving number plates... I NEED THAT MOD!!!)
"Handsome Rob" Has a lush 850CSi in the new "Italian Job"... again very little heroics from the 8er.
And a riced-up black E36 M3 gets killed in "2fast, 2furry-assed"
Oh, does anyone know if they have released vol. 2 of BMW Films??

There is a BMW in Bewitched I think...the opening sequence. Ok, I sat through it, Nicole sure is cute.

Not an E34, but Mr. and Mrs. Smith has a decent car chase involving some E39 528's, with the sound of an E36 M3.

Oooo good thing to know that it wasn't a real M5 trashed in Ronin as my eyes get a little teary eyed at that part.

what? no ones mentioned The Transporter yet! For me, the movie ends when the e38 gets blown to bits...what a shame! :(

Since nobody came up with the Seinfeld episode wiith the awfull smelling E34 supposedly caused by a parking garage attendant,I thought it was a little out of line when it "could'nt" be eliminated. Well another Hollywood type makebelieve.

Good call- The e39/minivan chase scene was great. I was relieved when the hood popped open to see they weren't 540's...American filmmakers have been notorious for such waste-

You sure that wasn't an e38? I know Seinfeld owned an e38 on there for a while.

Nick Cage drives an e34 in Leaving Las Vegas. He has to sell it to buy more booze. Sad movie on many counts...

I dunno; Ben Affleck late for his daughter's play is pretty wild -pot holes and road construction to avoid n such :p

Just seen a music video on Fuse with An e34, AFI - "Silver and Cold". There is a silver 540i with a stick tranny. At the end of the video they crash it into a some sort of military truck. I believe that the video was shot in Prague. You can see it at yahoo videos.

Seen jersey girl a couple of days ago, and today john Q. That white e34 got raped by two 18 wheelers in the first two minutes. It was a sad sight.
