The 2005 Vehicle Dependability Study measures problem symptoms experienced by original owners of three-year-old vehicles (2002 models) in the U.S. The vehicles are scored based on the number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100).

When my mom went in to take a test drive of the Buick Lacrosse, the salesman said, and I quote:

"We have a list of the quality of cars, and we're second!" Alarm bells went off and I countered with "According to whom? You? If you make the claim, it means nothing to me!"

Well, he didn't know who made this list, but now I guess its somewhat legitimate now that I see where it came from. And he certainly wasn't second, then again, he's selling Buicks, so what do you expect? :)

Maybe if VW hits bottom it would make enough noise so that all the people who buy them and know nothing about cars would then get a clue, I think they were 3rd to last a few years aog...

Nah cus he said that Lexus was first, so that would make him 1st in domestic. I think Bill Rs right, I guess there was a long term reliability test as well.

I almost bought a little 5 spd turbo GOLF TDI.. nice car... but nothing like the bmw... and then I got my mini van....
