any check control from either the e34 or e32 will be fine

What is wrong with that? usually when I start the engine, the ' check owners manual' comes up in my car. Was worried about that, cause also cat and othe things come up at the beginning. Was told by BMW Japan that is normal as self test.
Maybe only a japanese version, but all of my friends in Japan have it too. So nothing wrong.

ive heard u say this before shogun, but its not normal, i cant say for certain in Japan as I dont live there but all other cars is indicative of a problem, its usually the check control missing or faulty or loose, as the dash detects it and signals a problem if it cant find it

so check its not loose, otherwise replace it

over here if the display says anything past seat belts somethings up, we don't have cat temp sensors so i can't speak for that

poor contact in the CCM socket. Mine if fixed momentarily by unplugging/plugging the CCM.

If you have access to some good contact cleaner or Stabilant 22, try it, should make a difference.

I will try that one out. Have a couple of CCM's flying around here. All of them are from Japanese E32, except one which I got from Germany.
Will play a little bit with them and swop them next weekend to see if there is a difference.
