First time in Europe and I knew that the majority of the cars are tiny and all the European brands we dont see in the states. Was still interesting though, some of them are so funky and tiny. One thing is the gas, from what I can tell they have 3 grades, 95, 97, 98 Octane. This measured the same as over here? Uh I'd like access to those grades! Saw a bunch of E34's and lots of E32's and E36 & E46 (mostly 1.8's Ti's of course) Best part is like 99% of the cars are manuals.... oh wish that was the same over here for us that like to buy used manuals and have trouble finding them. The most unusual american car difference... the Turbo Jeep Cherokees they have... cause V-8's are very rare over there. Saw my favorite regular car not sold over here.... the Peugeot 406 Coupe/

Those are RON octane ratings, which are 4 to 5 points higher than the AKI system we use in North America.
95 RON ~ 91 AKI
97 RON ~ 93 AKI
98 RON ~ 94 AKI <-- Same as Sunoco Gold

Saw a really nice one recently-manual trans-when I was in Peru and wondered why we don't have it here in Canada.

Sooo.....91 octane for my '93 525i was a good choice after all?
I kind of assumed such a conversion from the RON.
What do you all run?
