i've got cross drilled rotors and my brakes squeel like a pig 90% of the time i brake. rotors and pads less than 1.5 years old. not sure what to do.
If you've got OEM rotors, i think the mechanic can wipe it for you (they do some kind of shaving i think??).

If it's coming from the back end of the car, the park brake probably needs to be adjusted. A lot of people mess that one up.
Do a quick test -- get in the car, open the windows and run around in tight circles, slowly pull the park brake lever up and see if the sound gets worse. By 10 or 11 clicks, the car should stop itself and not move.
Had a car in last week..a later M50 E34...obviously had the Midas brake special. I've said it before and I'll say it again -- you'd be surprised at what a monkey mechanic can do to anything with a rondell on it...even something as simple as a park brake :)
