Hey, remember my post from last Friday where I got merged into? Well tonight I T-Boned a lady who pulled out in front of me while I was doing 55 on the highway! My entire front end is crunched in and I think they are going to total the car. Nobody was hurt, my airbags did not deploy (but I had an SRS light on so I didn't expect them to) and the lady was at fault. If I had been driving an SUV, she probably would have been hurt pretty badly. She's insured, and was lucky not to be hurt. I'll post an update once the damage is looked at by her insurance company. ugghhhh!!!

Heard once that statistically the likelihood of being in a second wreck soon after the first is very high. Strange huh? At least neither were your fault. Years ago when I had my 2 in a month, the first was someone else's fault but the second was mine. I was preoccupied I guess. Glad you are ok and really sorry about your car.

Are you going to look for another E34 or what's your next choice if they Total it? And if they total it. Did it have a keyless entry Module that could be had?

I had someone do this to me, it was...*gasp* a white male! THE HORROR! He was drunk, I considered it revenge on all of the people who have been hit by drunks. I hit him before he hit someone else. :D

Good on ya!
Hmmm would it be out of place to ask for your fog lights? :p
Fight hard for them to repair it. Get your appraisal as high as you can for value of car!

Those were from the 2nd wreck... the 1st one is nothing compared to that. I'm afraid the fog lights were wasted, and one of them was lying on the road after the wreck (the tow man put it in my trunk as I cried.) The good news is, it might be fixable! I will update as soon as I get info from the insurance companIES... EDIT: I will post a list of stuff available if they "total" the car, but for now I am praying they don't, as any e34 owner would!

Good that u guys never got hurt, I had one early feb but mine was worse, I never took snaps, but literally damage everthing up to the windscreen, all lamps\spots ones and grills, ac and cooling radiators, waterpump and fan clutch, distributor cap, bumper and crimple zone and bent several valves and broke several roker arms etc.
Well as we speak I managed to put her back on the road. Good luck on restoring yours.

looks like an 8K repair.

looks like an 8K repair. The frame will definately in need of a pull. There is a cheap parts joint online that specialises in el-cheapo front end pieces, but its not cheap once u start paying a good person and then the sprayjob alone is quite expensive. I'd be doing the panels myself, but I'd be needing help on the pulling. And who has the time for this shite...
Here (in Oz) if you have a 'merging incident', should the damage be behind the centre turrett the insurance automatically sees it as the fault of the car that has the damage on the front. If its in front it is in front of the turrett its the car with the damage in the side. The idea being that insurance companies don;t like to get into tat-tats over who didn't indicate or look before changing lane when half the time someone was deliberately jamming someone else out of their lane (which didn't belong to them in the first place); they try to justify this by saying that if the damage is behind the turrett, the other vehicle should have been able to avoid hitting it.
I take it that yoghurt carton pictured in the garage caused the trouble? Perhaps you should have hit it harder- I bet it's driver won't learn from the experience... Good luck dude, :( GP
