Service Engine Soon?

So, my servive engine soon light came on in the 00 740i. Am I suppose to look for codes? or is it in need of inspection or what? The car currently has 36,000 miles on it.

Regular service, same like on E34.
If you want to reset it, you surely know how to do ;-)

Just wanted to make sure shogun. The cars has quite a few quirks...I want my parents to sell it already. Just yesterday, I was driving and the transmission program randomly decides to go into a "sport" like mode...rpms at 4-5k going 60mph. It was strange to say the least.
