Ok guys,
Why not fire up the annual (or maybe seasonal?? Spring, summer, fall/autumn, winter) Virtual Car show.
To keep things interesting (and so that a certain silver M5 doesn't kick all our arses... Not unlike this one http://photobucket.com/albums/b104/stnick/th_2003_Car_Show.jpg... Not naming names or anything)
we could run several categories:
Most improved
Top stereo install
Concourse
Most Photogenic
Best Group photo
Best action shot/ sequence/ video
Best photo location
Best all-rounder
best new member (3 month window??)
overall Grand Champion
Most devoted enthusiast
With the seasonal idea, entrants submit a pic of their car in scenry best depicting that season in their part of the world.
Thoughts?? ;)

That woud be sicck
I actully have a chance at most inproved (bought car not running and now its running) or possibly best new member? lol just my .02 worth

Sounds like a great idea.
Other possible categories are "most creampuff" (the sweetest, stockest, most perfect original car) and "meanest" (most likely to send other drivers hurtling out of the way when they spot you in the rear-view -- an inestimable quality).

Perhaps we can save you a little embarassment and call the category "most potential" :)

As long as Whit doesn't get Fritz in here I may have a chance.

How about "farthest from stock" and "makes the most turbine noise"?

Wonderful idea!!!
But please...name names. I have heard some pretty nasty aspersions on the character of the winner--like certain things to influence the judges. I want to know who :D

Never mind. Figured it out.
Would it be the car so aptly described by our witty word smith Brian C by the following:
In fact, I'm gonna christen thy car...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...."The Teri Hatcher of Classic Bimmers". And IMHO both:
*Possess sleek, classic lines...
*Are the envy of many...
*Are not appreciated by all, just the well informed...
*Have a quite reserve simmering under the hood...
*Can handle their own in a crowd of peers...
*Would surprise many when it was time for action...
(are you breathing hard yet?)
*Are examples that many try to imitate...
and...
*Cannot be maintained inexpensively, but worth every penny spent on them.
Rest of quote censored.

Seriously for a moment, including MP3s of idle, revs and drive-by sounds might be interesting area of competition.

Good idea but not everyone has the ability (has a computer to record out at the car, or the knowledge how to) to do that. Also, some peoples vehicles could thoroughly damage a typical computer audio system ::evil look::
