Does anyone know of a good way to DIY a leakdown test?
Guess I should have read a little further:
http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/trouble/engine_diagnose.htm
http://www.geocities.com/dsmgrrrl/FAQs/leakdown.htm
My assumption:
Use ~90 - 100 PSI
My question:
How long to test the leakdown? 1 min, 5 min? Or is it a steady pressure?
Perhaps this will all become clear when I pickup the gauge. :D

all should become clear with the gauge, you zero the gauge with the regulator before you hook up to the motor and then what ever it says is the reading, you will probably need to get a breaker bar and socket on the crank bolt to get the motor turned to a point where the valves are closed, watch out when you hook air up as it can spin the motor over

and make sure the piston is right at top dead center, thats where you check for Nikasil problems.
