Heya guys,
I'm looking for a thicker-than-stock head gasket for a 1995 M5. Cometic does not list anything I'm looking for. Does anyone know of a reliable supplier for a thick head gasket? Solid copper need not apply. Looking for MLS or thicker than stock composition.

I haven't sifted through ETK, but there should be a thicker gasket available for shaved heads/blocks through BMW, even for a euro S38B38.

What is Cometic?

If you've got a shaved M5 head then you're in trouble....


everyone I talked to about my M5 head said shaving it was about like a death sentence

the euro 3.8 show only the one gasket available. I would say your going to have to get them from another source.. even though you don't want copper you may end up going with that...I'm guessing that this is for a turbo or supercharged application?

I haven't sifted through ETK, but there should be a thicker gasket available for shaved heads/blocks through BMW, even for a euro S38B38.

Yep, head was shaved .0010 inch (10 thousandth's of an inch). I'm not sure how thick the walls are on those heads. It's a head my dad is working on for a customer. He wouldn't shave it if he thought it wasn't safe to.

Cometic (http://www.cometic.com/) is a gasket manufacturer.

I'll tell him to check about the stuff straight from BMW.
