oil pressure warning!

Im panicking here - and hope its nothing serious. I had to stop suddenly today, from a speed of perhaps 35mph. I come to a stop, and for a split second, the car flashes an "oil pressure warning", which promptly dissapeared. This never happened before - oil level is at roughly half between the dipstick lines. Is this serious? Please reply!

worst case the oil pump bolts are getting loose (common on the v8s) drop the sump pan (the one with the drain plug) remove the bolts one at a time from pump if some haven't fallen out yet, spray out the holes with brake cleaner and red locktight the bolts back in. but before tearing anything down yet check out the oil pressure switch
