You certainly remember the East German car "Trabant" with 2 stroke engine, 594 cc and 19 kw. Also called 'the plastic bomb', as it was made of good old East German plastic.
Here the racing version :D

Prices are going up for good serviced cars now. For sure will become a collector item. People had to wait up to 15 years for delivery after order in East Germany.

That cabriolet's kind of cool!
where i live i can buy one for 50 bucks. for real. i had one for about 2 weeks. some friends bought it for my birthday. the shift knob is caddy style, has 3 gears, and the "plastic" it's made of is thick cardboard. i mean before being a car, it was a tree :)
i pushed it to allmost 85 km/h. funny car.

I read a few years back that the Trabant 'plastic' is of a type that will not natuarally degrade and powder for over 400 years - thank goodness that such materials aren't legal nowadays.
