I just installed some 17" E60 wheels on my 525. The center hub seems to be the same size as the E34 not the larger diameter of the E39.

Personally I like the other wheels you had on better. These look a little like the chrome ghetto wheels I see a lot of in my neighborhod. Of course wheels are a personal opinion, that's what makes them fun.
