Headliner/Seat Repair Complete - What a PITA !

I took the headliner, parcel shelf and all the trim panels and had them reconvered. I also had the driver's seat repaired where some rips were developing. This was a pain in the ass project. The clips at the back glass were a real pain. Hopefully this will be the last time I rip into that stuff. I replaced the rear seat belt trim pieces, a few clips, things that all had to be special ordered from the dealer. Check out the pics :

Derek -- Nice job. It looks like the black headliner clip at the rear glass (driver's side) is still popped out. Sit in the back seat and reach a hand up there, make sure the clip is lined up and push hard. It should pop in with a little even force.

Last Saturday I set a new personal record time of only 30 minutes to remove the headliner from the car. And this was a car with sunroof :D
To be honest, we were 2 persons which already did it several times now. Good teamwork.

But I can tell you how long it took us the first time on my car last year. No sunroof I have to add. About 6 hours with 2 and an occasional 3rd person.

As a beginner, calculate with 1 day, let's say starting at 9 AM, finish 6 PM.
That includes long coffee breaks and lunch.

Johan now also has on his page a good info. He says to remove and install it, one person needs 2-3 hours. The renewal of the material on the removed headliner was done by another shop

No problem at all,
if you convince my wife and my employer.
We had a great day again yesterday in my 'garden scrapyard' removing the headliner, wire looms, dash panel, belts, throttle valves (I am just cleaning and testing them for sale).
Then we found a leak in my radiator and discussed that. The usual point at the plastic part were the connection is for the trans cooling.
I think I am going to let it modify here in Japan. There is a small shop which replaces the plastic part of the radiator with aluminium. Already installed on some E32 from our club.
Then we had a visit from BAMSE, which drives a real BMW Alpina B12 5.0

He bought some parts from us and we had a chat.
And then we had to help him to install this bloddy shock in the glovebox compartment.
Then we tried some experiments with polishing some engine parts and so on.
Tomorrow is holiday here and we will meet again and have some fun.
