Yes indeed 100 km/h at age 1 good times

I then moved on to the trusty 3 wheeler trike, then the 2 weel bike with training wheels of course. I went back an fourth skate board, scooters. bike, little variations you know. Then 2005 a magnificint angel in the form of a 535i landed in my driveway. a truly, happy day indeed.

I was driving a brand new Toyota truck with a shell. Midnight Blue. The truck was stolen in 1992.

I was driving a '89 Range Rover Vogue (3.5 litre V8) and a '86 Saab 900 turbo (16 valve) 5 door. Lots of get up and went - only car I ever almost cried over when I replaced her with a Volvo 940 Turbo wagon in '91 - fitting in kids became a priority. What a shame they didn't make 7 seater E34 estates.

i had several valiants, god bless em. this isnt mine but i had an identical car in red. 318 v8 ran on 4 cylinders which was the first engine i rebuilt.. i had a sedan with 8k on the clock i bought for 4oo.oo au slant 225. you wouldnt believe it im sure but the innovations on these cars were unbelievable for their time. stuff u younger guys would take for granted, like the first car in the world with factory alarm. first car u couldnt lock your keys in, collapsable steering column etc. i think i had about 14 of them much to my wifes horror. they were so much fun to work on and dead cheap, not any more, to adjust the front ride height you only had to get under there with a half inch spanner and wind it up or down. great in a straight line but not much on the corners where that vals. the 6 cylinder charger e-49 was the fastest over the quater mile in oz for about 7 years,completely blowing away ford and gm v8,s. funny that we are traditionally a v8 culture. In the states they were dodge. oh how i now miss the simple things!

And here was my weekend car (again, not the exact one, but similar). No digital pics of either one. Mine was Colony Blue with fender skirts, 351W w/glasspacks, and C4 automatic. Lovely car, weighed 3400 lbs., about the same hp/weight ratio as the E34, but could not turn or stop. Went like stink though!

1989 zellers special "bmx lookin" bike, RWD, drum brake (canadians will likely be the only ones that know what zellers is). price after delivery fees, tag, title, et cetera, was under $100 CDN (1990 dollars). aftermarket ghostbusters water bottle, $2.99 from Mc Donalds with purchase of Happy Meal or higher priced equivalent. replacement couldn't come soon enough with a fast lookin' machine from da canadian tire :D

Let's see, I am now driving a '89 325iC, which is a very nice ride for a convertible. In '89 I drove a '86 Pontiac Sunbird turbo which skooted pretty good. I also had a '74 Saab Sonnet a classic 70's 2 seater sports car with Italian design, what a fun weekend car!

In 1989 I was driving a restored 1968 VW Karmann Ghia (my plates were BADKRMA)... Drove that through my colege years and a few years after getting out of school, sold it for a 911. Man I wish I still had that car. I would post a photo, but I still can not figure out what I am doing wrong.

In 1989 I had just turned 3 and we lived in Mass. My parents had me on some weird ice skates in the winter and a tricycle in the summers. I think the trike had a 19" front wheel. Definitely riding in style

In 89 I was driving my 75 2002 that I still have. We also had a 1985 Peugeot that I sold to purchase a brand new 1989 Mitsubishi Montero 4 door. Both are long gone.

IN 89 I was driving a 79 Fird Fiesta. It was my 2nd one. That was a quick little car with cosworth 4 in it.

635 CSi like the one in this photo, except Bahama Beige. The color was sort of metallic caramel color. I loved it. It was totaled while I was waiting for a light to change in 1999. At that time it had 175k miles, looked great and would easily have run another 175k. Alas....it was not to be. Wish I still had it.

Well...

In 1989 I was 12, so about all I was driving was a riding lawn mower.

But in 1994, the birth year of my E34... I was driving a 1971 Olds Cutlass S. (aahhh 11 mpg, and only .99 a gallon).

Between that and the 540, I drove this -

The most trustworthy vehicle I've ever driven. 8 full years of ownership and almost every bit of work done to the car was done by choice.

However, once at the helm of the 540i... that poor little acura felt so small and meek. :(
