I came across this link for the m30 engine.

I haven't heard of this mod before. I need some smart answers :), It won't take long to do, is it necessary?

thousands of m30s have gotten along without it for this long, locktight the banjo bolts on your bar and save the money, or you could just squash your bar in the middle and have one for free, id go with the locktight personally

Yeah, I was wondering this too. I've seen the article before but haven't tried it yet. The 535 is due for a valve adjustment soon so.........

I dont get it...if you squash it wheres the oil come from for the front part? or is it fed from both sides? and if thats the case why would the front be starving for oil?

i guess it's so only half of your cam gets ****ed up when it pukes up a banjo bolt and you loose lube pressure to the rockers

If you create a restriction to increase the oil pressue at idle. What happens to the oil flow at higher RPM ?

Pressure relief valve opens more dumping the oil before it over pressurizes.

no restriction, the same quanity of oil flows through the tube crimped or not

Following on from what Winfred said about puking banjo bolts - I recently had head off my car. In the process I found the front banjo bolt backed out about 2 or 3 turns - this in an engine with only about 100,000km. The crimp in the pipe will be no use if a banjo bolt comes out. I found it dead easy to drill the heads of the bolts and wire them to the tube - there is no way they are coming out by themselves.

with one loose or missing bolt (they do completely back out) and a crimped tube half of the cam starves, somebody was selling drilled bolts here a while back, i clean and hit them with red locktight
