Thrust Arms - is 'ground down' 22m wrench essential? If not what? thx.

going to install the sachs kit (been sitting in the garage for months...) and thrust arms in an hour or so.... doing the work in a "auto hobby shop" that's pretty well equipped.... but I can't go grinding down their wrenches.... do i need to hit sears (way out of the way..) to get a 22mm to grind down, or is there another hint? thanks! -Rob.

22 mm i've always been able to use my snapon 22mm box end wrench.. the walls are thin enough that it fits in with no problem.. now i think some of the e32s are a tighter fit though.

My flea market 7/8" box end, by Armstrong I think, fits just fine also.

No kidding. I didn't have to grind down no wrenches to get in there?

I actually had my car up on a alignment rack when torquing down the thrust arms...so maybe that helped.

I cant get to mine, have to use the ground wrench to tighten with load then drop the cross bar to get the wrench out...kinda stupid but thats OK.

Go to a bicycle shop and purchase a thin profile 22mm wrench. All of my thin profile wrenches that I have needed over the years, have came from a bike shop.

on e34s it's not a big deal to get a box end in there, my craftsman 22mm and home depot husky 7/8 fit in with no problem, on a e32 you need to drop the plate that the sway bar bolts to, you can allways do that on a e34 if you have trouble
