E34 535iM production numbers

I have heard many different answers to the old question, How many 535i came with 5 speed manual. Many call these cars "535 Sport", regardless, does anyone have actual verified information on this?

The most common answer I have heard over the last 5 years that I have owned my E34's, is that only 5% of all E34's were 535's and only 5% of those were 5 speed manual.

Insgesamt wurden in Deutschland exakt 1.166.312 E34 Limousinen und 124.656 E34 Touring gebaut. In den ausländischen BMW-Werken wurden zudem noch 42.470 E34 Limousinen aus Teilesätzen gefertigt. Insgesamt liefen demnach 1.333.438 E34 vom Band, darunter 11.984 M5.

what do you want to know? 535i manual in general (incl. european cars) or only the 535i 5-speed which were build for america?
