I'm in northern Ontario and lined up for fuel this evening on the premise that gas prices in TO were reaching the $2.00 mark (refinery output).
Trying to be efficient, but thanking the 'lord' for the company gas card,

I'll let you know. I need to fill up before work tomorrow.

We have a "Gas Cap"
A short sighted calculation to cap the wholesale price of gas the refinery can sell at.
We have two refineries in Hawaii. .Thanks to the Military, so we are not affected by the loss of production elsewhere.
But….Some ill educated legislators have dismissed the efficient market theory and have decided that they can set caps on the price.
You’d think we’d be lower…..Gas was $3.69 last week and today $3.19 next week it will be ??? $4 $5
Gotta go now and read my copies of Das Kapital & Mao's little red book, before the Red Guard comes and checks on me.

In Goulburn I'm paying about $1.40 per litre for 95 ron and that's after I use my Coles 4c per litre discount voucher! Lucky the E12 still runs on Lead replacement petrol... JOKE! They lobbied and got it back in the UK but Aussies don't have the following that classics have in the UK.

Apparently, we're still siting @ $1.10/L
I did a little conversion spreadsheet (attached as zip.) to compare what people are paying in the countries most prominenty represented on the board. The final rate is in USD / L, but, if you'd like, grab the spreadsheet and punch in accurate local prices, change the formulas ect. to keep track of your neighbors.
A summary below (a bit messed up, just follow the headings):
Country - Local $ / Local Unit - USD / L
Canada - $1.10 - $0.94
US - $3.00 - $0.79
GB - $1.40 - $2.52
AUS - $1.40 - $1.82
In terms of recent disasters and oil refinery shutdowns in the US, I'll be interested in seeing whether we reach AUS or GB gas prices, even if its temporary.
The end of Suburbia?? We'll see.
