Is it below the radiator? How comon was it to have an E34 535i with an oil cooler?
Engine oil cooler, not tranny.

The (motor) oil cooler mounts to the bottom of the radiator.

...that this is a coveted add on. Chances are slim to none that you'll find one on your car.

The only late M30s to come with it in the US, to my knowledge, were early 735s. Much like the early 750s.
My new M30 has the blanks in the filter housing for the lines. I've been offered a cooler, but have no lines.
If you really want one of these, call Zionsville Autosport. Apparently, they throw in the filter housing with the cooler because they can't give them away.
