========================
Can I use SynPower in an older vehicle?
Yes. SynPower has been tested with various seal materials by meeting API SL/SJ and preceding categories recommended for older vehicles. Or yes, SynPower has a proper balance of synthetic base oils in formula not to be harmful to seals or gaskets in pre-1980 vehicles.
Once I switch to synthetics, can I ever switch back to conventional or synthetic blend oils?
Yes.
========================
The above were taken regarding Valvoline SynPower 10w30.
1. Does the above hold true for Mobil 1?
2. Should I switch to Mobil 1 Clean High Mileage 10w40? **
3. Given this is the first run, should I go 10w40 or fully jump 5w30?
4. Should I match it with a Mobil 1 oil filter as well?
5. Just a case of drop, drip the dino and in with the synth?
6. How many quarts/ltrs am I looking at for the 535 M30?
** Mobil 1 Clean High Mileage marketing:
Outstanding protection for engines with more than 75,000 miles. Proven protection of critical engine parts from lubricant-related failure for 5,000 miles or six months, whichever comes first. Includes seal conditioner to help prevent leaks in high mileage engines. Does not require a special oil filter. Designed to exceed the latest engine warranty requirements.
NB: BTW if someone in T.O. needs to Peake sometime, I've got one ;)
EDIT 1: Excellent!
Yep. After a shower and rereading things around, it's more clear.
Mobil 1 or Mobil 1 Extended Performance. In this case, Mobil 1 it is. No point in pushing the oil.
Done.
EDIT 2: Oil Capacity 535 M30 ~ 5.8 litres, fuel tank ~ 81 litres
