My June 1990 Consumer Reports compares the Lincoln Continental, the Lexus LS400, and the Infinity Q45 to the 535i. They give a previous nod of approval goes to the MB 300E. Man, they gave the Lincoln a hard time!

A great friend of mine has a Q45, it's not a bad ride. Has some serious go when you put your foot in it. :) I like the cig lighter outlets in the back.

my ex-wife has a 90 lincoln. it has not been good to her. the little electronics are brutal (seats, mirrors, etc.) and the suspension was a very pricey fix.
i test drove a few 300's from the late 80's and early 90's and i really liked them. very comfortable and solid. was much more comfortable in my 91 525 though.... ;)
