start, sputter, stop, no start.. huh?

I started the car this morning and it tried to idle, then just quit. Ok, no biggie, I'll just start it again. Then it grinded away like there was no gas. I did check, it's 1/2 full.

I left it and came back about 3 hours later and tried again. This time, it grinded away and eventually took off.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

No. I will do that though and see if anything comes up.

The funny thing is that the car starts fine again now. It still makes me wonder enough though to try and see what the deal was with it.

That happened to me a while back... Took about three attempts with many strange noises and a whole lot of smoke when it did start without stalling. Has started/run fine since then. Another member mentioned he had a similar situation a couple of times.

Could just be a quirk that happens every now and then. Like the way my wipers come on for six wipes once the car has started, every few months.

stomp test revealed nothing. maybe it was just an anomolie (sp)
