Howdy all,

Sweet forums going first of all!

I was wondering if there is a list of options avalible for the 735iL *European* and codes to check them. I know for my Camaro it was listed under the build sheet then you would just cross reference. Is there the same for the 735iL aswell?

Also, I'm trying to find some concrete information on the Naksil block issue.
How big of an issue is it exactly?
Anyone have any sulphur information for Canadian gas companies (Shell, Mohawk, Esso, Husky, Petro-Canada) so I can run the least sulphuric gas and make my block last longer?
Is there anything I can add to my gas to rid of the sulphur or help treat the block to slow the process?
How long shoudl these blocks last on Canadian gas? It currently has 115,000km on it, very young engine from what I have heard for BMW standards.
Block codes that have the Nakasil block issue *one website was listed here but is offline now*?

Thanks all!!!!!

I shall post pictures of my baby when I got confirmation she is mine.

Options: easiest is you go to the dealer and ask him to make a print out based on the chassis number.
If he is online it is done within a minute.
Another possibility is to remove the rear seat and look for a paper where all the options are listed.

The options codes numbers you can find out on the same link on Johan's page under miscelaneous links.

Your engine is a 735 = a straight six engine. This is not addected by the Nikasil/Alusil issue. You have an M30B35 engine, affected engines were the V8 M60 and M62 engines.

Thank god.

I wa skind of hoping you were goign to answer soon, you know more about this stuff then most people it seems :)

I got another question for you. Tranny's, 4 speed or 5 speeds? Reliable? Are they the maintence free ones or should I be doing 2 year fluid changes?

How about the diff's, I know it is recommended chanign them every 2 years or 50,000km aswell, or atleats for my Regal thats what it was.

This is the general maintenance schedule, maybe you print that one out for further reference.

And this one tells you what to check in special for the 735i/iL

If you go to my website below, go to VIN decoder and type in the last seven digits of the chassis #, then you will get the exact transmission type.
There is more on my website about transmission under european transmissions.
Also see the online wiring diagrams and other links. Bookmark my website and then you have all important links for R+R on one website.
Also I suggest you by a Bentley Repair Manual. That really helps.
Do a search for BMW online vendor list, where you can buy cheaper than from the dealer.
Also do a search for the online spre parts catalog or online ETK= German for Ersatzteilkatalog=spare parts catalog.

Good Luck with the car.
If there are more questions, let me know.

Any differences between the M30B34 and the B35? Chassi code says its a B34.

This is weird, its listed as a 90, first registered in March of 90, but was made in Dec of 88. Does this make it any different for parts or such?
