I live in LA but also had a '95 525iA in Queens,NY. It was stolen last week. It was Green color with nice Tan leather. It was all stock. Vin# WBAHD6328SGK50407. I have a feeling it will be parted out. Please let me know if you see any suspicious sellers from NY. Maybe on ebay or craigslist or anywhere else.
Thanks,
Michael

So whats the story? Where was it when it was stolen? What do you know about how it happened? What do the police say about your chances of getting it back? Here in San Diego, if you don't get them back immediately they end up in Tijuana.
i dind't think it was possible to steel these cars.

Well actually it's easier than u think. Only because it is a BMW doesn't make it a vault on wheels. My buddy had a 350z, thinking it's a new car and everything, had it stolen right form his driveway.

Sure, just get a flatbed and pick it up.
But...laser cut key, EWS/DWA, shift interlock, double locking doors, column lock = a little bit beyond what most chrysler/gm/ford screwdriver jammers can swing.

Ah yes
Back in the bad old days (mid to late 80's) my wife (gilfriend then) had a 78 Ford Escort, they only made four different keys to fit them. It was stolen six times. What made it worse was we kept getting it back.
In the end we decided we had had enough and were going to sell it. My Brother in Law bought it from us and 2 months later (you guessed it ) it was stolen again, but he didn,t get it back. The insurance company only gave him 1/3 of what he paid us for it.
All the best
Bob

i guess you didn't code the car. sorry to hear that.
Sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one! :(
On a brighter note, not only do I have the Club, immobilizer, two-way, alarm... I just set the code as well.

After 1 week of trying to file a police report we filed it a couple days ago. A friend of mine who discovered a car was missing could not file in nyc because he was not the owner. I could not file over the phone. LAPD would not take a report because it was stolen in NY. Finally my sister filed it since she is in NY now. A thief could be driving the car all this time get pull over and the cop would let him go because it is not reported stolen. Anyways it was so stupid.
I get a call this morning from sergant in NY. He told me they found my car!!!
The Sanitation Department picked up the car on 9/21 from Queens because the windows were smashed , missing license plates and some interior was missing. Basically the car was vandalized and they took it. After sanitation dep. picked up the car they demolished it so the car no longer exists.
All this happend without Me ( the registered owned) knowing a thing.
I called the san. dep and asked them what happened. A lady on the phone told me that the car became the property on NY after they took it and destroyed it because the windows were smashed blah, blah. She told me in very rude way that they were NOT supposed to notify me because it became the property on NY once they took it and they can do anything they want with it( NY section # ......). And she HUNG up on me. I called the sergant again and he told me there is nothing he can do. Case closed.
Any comment gentelmen?
Michael
You got to be sh*tting me! Is insurance going to pick this up?!?
For all we know, the 'sanitation department' might have just stolen it, parted it out, and scrapped it. Damn!
!!!!!!!!? wtf is wrong with people today. Isn't it YOUR car don't you HAVE the right to say wha happens to it? Its not your fault it was stolen! Id be frigin pissed! Im angery and its not even my car :(

That's just wrong.
The police report thing happened to me back in 1992. My Toyota truck was stolen and they couldn't do anything till I showed up at the police department.

What has your insurance company told you so far?

wow. I think I'd be angry to the point I'd do violence to them without thinking about the years I'd get to spend in federal prison. Couldn't they have ran the VIN when they picked it up and attempted to contact the owner?
I'd march down the the sanitation department and smash every car's window in the parking lot. :)

Put some pick axes through the windshields of any garbage trucks you can find. And then maybe through a couple incompetent worker's heads.
