I am almost finished with my conversion and I had a few questions for you all.
I am in need of a chip or ecu to run the 4.0 engine. I have a 3.0 ecu and I was wondering if I could just have a 4.0 chip installed in my ecu because they are both motronic 3.3 systems. Does that make sense?
I also destroyed my shift boot when removing my tranny. Forgot to take the damn shifter knob off. Does anyone know where I can get a new light gray leather boot?
Does anyone know where to get a heavy duty 530i clutch kit?
Last thing does anyone need any m60 parts?
Thanks in advance

check some of the performance BMW online places for the clutch pressure plate setup...you should fill out where your from so we can see where your from incase someone needs parts too.
Congratulations on this swap! I hope you took lots of pictures and have made a point to write down trouble areas, cause your the new and most likly person to have done this sort of swap on this forum.
Ill take the whole Nikasil failure off your hands :)
One day I hope to have a whole fleet of them.

They do custom work. Not sure on their craftmanship. Jon, I wasn't aware that your boots were for sale, does the center console area come with it?

Shifter area is extra. Yes, I make the boots. Just need you to send your current one so I can make the new one around your shift boot ring.

Wow, I have been dreaming of dropping an M60B40 into my 94 530i. This might be a stupid question but did you use your same 530i transmission or did you have to buy a 540i tranny? if you have any pictures of the process I would love to look at them to study.
What's with the shift knob? Looks like it didn't get circumcised properly :p
