I'm starting to get seriously annoyed with my car. Jeff's comment on my oxygen sensor thread prompted this one, he said that my 540 should have an aluminum elbow going into the throttle body, but mine is most definitely plastic. When I looked over my engine yesterday the plastic elbow was half off, and it was a bitch to get back on. I had to lube up the rubber TB gasket, and work around the edges of the elbow with a screwdriver to get it on all the way around, and if I tighten up the clamp too much it pops off. Does this sound right?
My car has been in an accident in the past, and I was too stupid to notice it when I purchased the car (R-Dot stickers). Clean title, clean carfax, and it was repaired well from the standpoint of the body, but I've found a few things that were not quite right already. Driver's side door, fender, and hood were all replaced, so it was obviously a front impact, is it possible they replaced the TB elbow with a 530 one?
