I like #2, but I'm looking at maybe getting a set of #1.

I prefer the second ones; the M Parallels. I don't like the polished finish, though.

I like #2 as well. The car that got me started on e34's had momo wheels of that design.

I'll vote for the second ones, the M Parallels. Personally, I like a wheel with distinctive spokes and the first one, the M5 design, is too busy.

They are both nice rims. You need to decide for yourself what you really want. They will both look good on your car.

I think it depends on what your brake setup looks like. I love both of these wheels. The newer M5 style looks great in a staggered setup, so do the parellels. But, the parellels are really open. IF you had a bad ass brake setup this would be a good thing. If you have a rusty old nasty looking caliper and rotor.....not so good. Nothing looks more gay than bad ass wheels with no attention paid to the brake and rotor setup.

amen to mendozart, but i'll put my 2 cents in w/ others and agree that the simpler design of the second one will not only beutify your car, but give it a sporty look.
Here's what I upgraded to a couple weeks ago... very similar idea of the 5 split-spoke rims (style 66 replicas)
(Okay, max jpg size of 39.1k? I'll post a link: http://www.bimmerwerkz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41421&page=2&highlight=rims --> links on second post)
Second one. I believe the first ones are too 'busy' looking for the e34. Leave them for the e39s

Every time I wash my car and the wheels are so easy to clean (quick easy wipe with a rag), I think "I love my mps."

Thanks for all of your opinions. I personally like the Parallels (the seconds) over the first ones. Although the first ones are not bad at all. After looking at a couple pics of how the Parallels look on the e34s. It totally brings a new look to the car.
One more question: (It’s a Newbie Question) What is the reason for Staggering?

One it looks bad ass. Two it will enable you to get a wider tire on the back which will also give you better grip/performance......and did I mention it looks bad ass.

So staggering gives you a slight tilt from the rear wheels?

Actually the car on the left was nick named "the lip" (short for lipison).
The car on the left had m parallel replicias and the one on the right has oem m parallels (referred to in the above post as mps). Can you say repetition complusion? This pic also allows you to compare the look lowered and non lowered.
The m parallels are a great classic wheel with a sporty look for these cars.

My car has E39 style aftermarket wheels, but MP's will look just as good and more sporty imho, and they seem easier to keep clean. I hope they are OEM's, as 'personally' I've lost faith in aftermarket wheels, after balancing problems due to what turned out to be a manufacturing fault. While the outer lip was true, the distance between it and the various inner spokes varied by as much as 4mm.

2 wheels had to be replaced which fixed the problem, so if I had to do it again, and after all the headaches, I'd go for a quality brand like BBS, no matter the price. My 2 previous BMW's had BBS wheels, and I never had a problem with balancing or vibrations. Of course mine may be an isolated case.
My 2 cents.
If anyone has these rims please post a pic
