OT: Swapping out VCR for DVD in my Expedition truck

I am going on a trip in December and I wanted to swap out the VCR player in our Ford Expedition with a DVD player, this way the kids can bring their DVD's and I can keep them occupied.

Anyone have any experience with this kind of equipment swap?
